Always the grown up

Beth was born an adult. In my eyes, she didn't mellow with time, she just grew into an age where she was able to make the decisions she wanted.

I told her not long ago that I'd need a WWBD bracelet. She is the most impressive decision maker I've met. One day I hope to be this kind of grown up. I was trying to channel this Bethness very recently and fell short. I was looking at it all wrong. Beth wouldn't have been wondering about every single permutation of what could happen, Beth would have just done it already. Beth always did what she felt was right: in the moment, not 10 what ifs later.

This photo is a reminder of loving her sticking to her values. She really wanted to go on a horse draw cart around Central Park. We went to New York, we got to the park, and she said lots of the horses we saw didn’t appear well looked after and she wasn’t supporting that in any way. We went for a picnic.

For her judgement, she was incredibly accepting of people, in all our ugliness.  It was like she she just understood the world a bit better each step of the way. And most importantly knew when to laugh with it. I will miss laughing with her.
